The SIA Student Government (SSG) successfully launched its first environmental initiative for the SIA community with the campaign theme, “Be a Hero Today – Protect the Planet for Tomorrow.” The project aims to raise awareness on proper waste management and encourage students to take active responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
As part of the General Assembly, the SSG conducted a seminar highlighting the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The program opened with an engaging icebreaker activity where students were divided into four groups and participated in a relay that involved collecting random trash around the covered court. Hidden among the trash was a golden ticket, which added excitement while emphasizing the idea that even discarded items can have value when handled properly.
Following the activity, students viewed an informational video demonstrating the proper ways of disposing waste, along with key Do’s and Don’ts. The seminar reflected the SSG officers’ careful planning and dedication in promoting environmental responsibility within the school.

In connection with the seminar, the SSG also introduced a recycling fund-raising competition, which will run from November 17 to December 12, 2025. The four student groups will collect recyclable materials, which will then be converted into funds to support future SSG projects.
The SSG encourages full participation from the student body as the school moves toward a cleaner and greener future.
Together, let us make Stepping Stone International Academy one of the cleanest and greenest schools in Cambodia.
