Before the festive celebrations of the Christmas season begin, SIA took a meaningful pause to reflect on God’s goodness through a three-day Spiritual Emphasis and Thanksgiving event with the theme, “Faith that Shines, Heart that Thanks.”

The kick-off day opened with an inspiring sharing of God’s Word led by Mr. Jon Ames, who emphasized the importance of having a thankful heart toward God. This was followed by a special number presented by the High School students and teachers—a heartfelt rendition of “Counting My Blessings,” reminding the community to remain grateful for God’s continuous grace and provision.
Students from the Middle School Department, Enqi Cao and Sarah Pok, also took the stage to share their personal testimonies of God’s goodness in their lives. Their sincere stories encouraged everyone to appreciate every blessing, big or small, and to cultivate gratitude in all circumstances. Hearing these testimonies was truly a blessing to all.

Adding a creative touch to the celebration, students participated in an arts-and-crafts activity wherein the names of the groups were inspired by the first four books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each group made their own “prayer turkey,” highlighting the importance of giving thanks to God, especially during Thanksgiving. Students also shared prayer requests and thankful lists through a quick and fun activity—complete with exciting prizes.
It was indeed a blessed start to the event, and this was only Day 1. Stay tuned for more inspiring activities and meaningful reflections in the coming days.
