From January 9 to 31, 2025, eleven secondary students from South Korea embarked on an enriching English Camp experience. An annual initiative by their local church during winter break, this year's camp was held in SIA Cambodia to provide an immersive environment for improving English communication skills while experiencing cultural exchange and engaging in fun and interactive activities.

Daily Program & Activities
Each day at camp was designed to balance learning and enjoyment. Mornings were filled with mini English fun activities, encouraging teamwork and creativity. Throughout the day, students worked on improving their language skills through Rosetta Stone sessions and PACE work, reinforcing their comprehension and application of English. Before dismissal, they had the chance to engage with other SIA students through volleyball and basketball training, fostering friendships beyond the learning center.

English Fest
One of the highlights of the camp was the English Fest held on January 27. The English Camp students performed an energetic dance and a powerful skit, captivating the audience while demonstrating their talents and creativity.

The English Fest was aimed at both English Camp and SIA students to team up and participate in exciting language-based games such as Word Relationships, Spelling Bee, and Word Feud. The competitive yet friendly atmosphere brought out the best in each participant, with teams celebrating their victories and showcasing their growing confidence in English.

Spoken Word
Another major event was the Spoken Word competition on January 28. This event is held annually at SIA, providing students with an opportunity to enhance their public speaking skills and express their creativity. Leading up to the event, English Camp students dedicated time to practicing their pieces, ensuring they met the activity’s objectives. The competition brought together secondary students, including those from the English Camp. Despite being first-time performers, they delivered an impressive performance, with three students earning top placements. Their performances reflected their dedication and progress in expressing themselves in English.

Recognition Day: Celebrating Achievements
The camp concluded with a heartwarming Recognition Day. Despite the holiday, SIA students joined in the morning games, fostering strong bonds with their Korean peers. A potluck lunch followed, featuring a special treat—a roasted goat, symbolizing the warmth and hospitality shared among everyone.

In the afternoon, Mr. Jon Ames delivered an inspiring message on life’s journey, followed by an awards ceremony recognizing the students' hard work and accomplishments. A prayer session was held by Mr. Paul Lim, sending off the students with blessings for their continued growth and learning.
