Today marked the grand finale of Stepping Stone International Academy's (SIA) three-day International Cultural Celebration. With hearts brimming with excitement and plates filled with flavors from around the globe, students and faculty came together for the much-anticipated culminating event: the International Cookfest.
The program commenced with a short but meaningful devotion led by Teacher Jewel, who imparted a valuable message emphasizing that regardless of our color, race, or religion, we can always turn to God for guidance and assistance.
As the cookfest progressed, each team delved into the challenge of crafting flavorful dishes that represents their respective continents. From peeling carrots to slicing mangoes, and from boiling water to frying shrimp, the basketball court buzzed with activity as teams poured their efforts into their dishes.
After three hours of intense preparation, the teams proudly presented their culinary creations:
Team South America offered a mouthwatering Brazilian barbeque paired with fried shrimp and a vegetarian salad complemented by a refreshing Brazilian lemonade.
Team North America served up juicy hamburgers, flavorful tacos, and a delectable guacamole dip.
Team Australia offered a savory Australian meat pie with homemade buns.
Team Asia presented a local dish of Bai Cha (Cambodian Fried Rice) and Korean's Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes).
Team Antarctica served up a refreshing treat with shaved ice milk paired with an ice cold chocolate drink.
Team Africa showcased the continent's rich flavors with Jollof Rice, Injera accompanied by fresh sliced fruits, and African Lemonade.
Team Europe impressed with a feast of Bruschetta, Caprese, Carbonara with steak, and a decadent Chocolate Fondue.
The judges faced a difficult decision, reflecting on the exceptional quality of each dish. Following the tasting, the school community gathered for a potluck lunch, fostering a sense of unity through shared meals.
